Automation that feels built-in.
Optimised for comfort, energy, security and simplicity.

A premium Loxone backbone that delivers comfort, convenience and measurable efficiency — without turning your building into a science project. New to Loxone? Think of it as the building’s local "brain" for lighting, climate, shading and energy.

What is Loxone?

Loxone is a building automation platform. It’s a local controller (the ‘brain’) plus wired and wireless peripherals that coordinate the day‑to‑day services of a home or workplace — so lighting, heating, shading and energy behave as one system.

Automation-first

Designed around building services (not just app control). It’s built to run the behaviours you actually want: scenes, schedules, presence logic and sensible overrides.

Local, resilient

Core functions run on-site. If the internet drops, the building still works — you typically only lose online services like remote access and external data feeds.

Simple to operate

Proper wall controls plus a clean app. Guests, family and staff can use the building without training — and without breaking your automations.

We can also integrate practical security and safety signals — burglar alarms (e.g., Orisec, Texecom), CCTV triggers (Hikvision, Reolink) and fire/fault contacts — so the building responds intelligently (lighting, announcements, notifications) without extra complexity.

Secure by design.

Loxone is built as a closed, local-first automation platform. Your core functions keep running even if the internet doesn’t.

Local, resilient control

  • Runs locally — no cloud dependency for day-to-day operation
  • Predictable behaviour with proper commissioning
  • Updates and changes are deliberate, not automatic surprises

Wire-first performance

  • Wired peripherals where it matters: fast, reliable response
  • Instant scene changes and low-latency controls
  • Less reliance on RF — fewer “why didn’t it trigger?” moments

Loxone vs Control4 — pick the right backbone.

Most smart-building frustration comes from choosing the wrong platform as the foundation. Loxone is automation-first: it’s designed around building services — lighting, climate, shading and energy — with core logic running locally for predictable day‑to‑day operation. Control4 is experience-first: it shines when the project is AV‑led and you want a polished “watch / listen” journey across multiple rooms and sources. Both can automate; the difference is the centre of gravity. Our approach is simple: make the building services resilient and easy to operate, then layer on the experience you’ll actually use. If the right answer is Loxone plus a dedicated AV layer, we design it that way. If a Control4‑led approach makes more sense, we’ll tell you.

Choose Loxone when…

  • Lighting, climate and shading are the priority
  • You want reliable automation that feels built-in
  • You care about resilience and predictable behaviour

Choose Control4 when…

  • The project is driven by AV and media experience
  • You want a polished entertainment control layer
  • You’re investing heavily in multi-room audio/video

Lighting that just works.

Scenes, schedules and sensible automation — with proper physical controls so anyone can use it.

Convenience

  • One-tap scenes: Morning, Evening, Away, Entertain
  • Presence-based lighting in circulation areas
  • Central “All Off” and night routes

Efficiency

  • Daylight dimming where it makes sense
  • Auto-off that respects occupants (no nuisance)
  • Time-based strategies for out-of-hours

Comfort, without the waste.

Heating and cooling strategies that help reduce unnecessary runtime while keeping the space comfortable.

  • Zoning so you’re not heating (or cooling) unused areas
  • Setbacks that protect comfort rather than chasing extremes
  • Schedules based on how the building is actually used
  • Overrides that are simple and predictable

For workplaces this often means fewer “set-and-forget” setpoints and more control around occupancy and hours.

Shading that prevents problems.

Use sunlight intelligently: help reduce glare, help prevent overheating and take pressure off the HVAC.

  • Sun-position logic (not crude timers)
  • Room-based glare and heat strategies
  • Weather-aware routines where appropriate
  • Manual control always available
  • Scenes that coordinate lighting + shading
  • Improved comfort and stability

Energy visibility, not guesswork.

If you can’t see it, you can’t manage it. We add the right level of metering and reporting to make waste obvious and fixable.

  • Out-of-hours consumption flags
  • Anomaly alerts when something drifts
  • Simple dashboards for facilities teams
  • Solar PV and battery visibility where fitted
  • Heat pump integration (ASHP/GSHP): hot water scheduling, flow temperature governance and efficiency‑friendly control (where supported)
  • EV charging: “ready by” scheduling, solar surplus and load management (where supported)
  • Octopus Agile tariff integration: use half‑hour pricing to shift load and optimise charging (subject to scope)

This is where opportunities to reduce carbon and costs can become repeatable, not accidental.

Workplaces: simpler, more manageable buildings.

Commercial automation is about helping to reduce unnecessary runtime whilst keeping occupants comfortable.

  • After-hours shutdown with practical exceptions
  • Meeting-room occupancy control for lighting and HVAC
  • Daylight strategies that can lower lighting demand
  • Alerts so issues are fixed before the bill arrives

Why Loxone?

It’s designed as a cohesive automation platform — reliable, local-first, and built to be operated day-to-day. That’s the difference between a clever demo and a system you live with.
